One of the things that can keep you in a negative cycle is comparison. Comparison doesn’t have to control you, but what would it take for you to finally stop the cycle? How can you turn your comparison into inspiration?

One of my goals for the new year is to read more books. Even though I can struggle with getting as many books in as humanly possible, I’m still able to take away from the good gems I do find. My latest read is Just As I Am by Cicely Tyson and it’s particularly relevant given that we are now in Black History Month.

Now more than ever people want to feel connected. Whether it’s feeling connected to a greater purpose, connected to likeminded individuals or just feeling connected to self. There’s a growing need to find space and community.

Maybe you’re in this position, or maybe you’re realizing that you’re heading in this direction. It’s possible that you’re like me. Always doing the right things, saying the right things, and always being the right one. It’s a wonder how you seem to get everything right. So what happens when everything starts feeling wrong?

One thing we have to do in life is learn how to work with difficult people. Whether it’s a family member, friend, colleague, etc. we have to be able to make sure we can accomplish our goals and tasks. In my own personal experience there are certain people who will act harshly either because they don’t care or they have nothing to lose. In other cases it could be something deeper than that like maybe projecting an insecurity. So how do we deal with people who may have difficult personalities, how do we know when someone may be projecting and what does America’s Next Top Model have to do with any of this?

A quarter-life crisis is something that’s unique to people in their mid twenties to early and one of thirties. Life can quickly become tricky and one of the trickiest things to figure out is the future. What happens when our future is unclear and we begin questioning the the things we’ve been taught are the “right things to do”?
