Maybe you’re in this position, or maybe you’re realizing that you’re heading in this direction. It’s possible that you’re like me. Always doing the right things, saying the right things, and always being the right one. It’s a wonder how you seem to get everything right. So what happens when everything starts feeling wrong?
Thankfully for me, I do have a trusted professional that I can work these thoughts and feelings out with. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for everyone. While I’m still getting to the bottom of this, all I can say in this moment is that it’s a sign of change.
I’ve learned a lot this year.
This year has allowed me to experience unique things – things I have never done before. Change is natural and it’s no surprise that the more I experience, the more I learn about myself. At a certain point, what used to work for a different version of me will stop working for the version of me that is fully realized. Once the lessons have been learned it will be up to me to apply them accordingly.
I often find myself wondering what would happen if I had made different decisions. All of my choices have led up to this moment and it will be up to me to take the leap even if what I jump into is the wrong thing to other people.
We owe it to ourselves to take chances.
We don’t always realize it, but so many of the choices we make are based on the expectations others have set for us – spoken and unspoken. Our environments, the people we live with, the friends and acquaintances we interact with all play a part in who we end up becoming. All that said, we are still allowed to make our own path.
I for one want to be brave enough to see if the wrong things end up being the right things. I want to space to dare to fail fast and explore all of my possibilities. I want to be able to make the choices that are best for me whenever the time comes.
The year is getting so close to the end and 2023 has been a blur. I can’t wait to see who I end up becoming and I hope that you give yourself time, space, and freedom to really figure out what you want.
What has 2023 taught you so far?
How have you changed?
What new things have you realized about yourself recently?
